Preston Sawyer lived and breathed the farm he grew up on. All his life his father taught him and his twin brother Cole about hard work and honor. But those value pose a huge dilemma for him when feelings for his childhood friend started to become more.

Annalia (Lia) Del Valle grew up poor. As daughter of a farm worker, she barely had anything and always felt boxed in. Even her friendship with the Sawyer brothers was bound by limitations. But one night, the line was crossed and it irrevocably changed the rest of their lives.

When I first read the book blurb, I got excited with the possibility of angst. I’m glad this book sure has some of that.

A man is only as good as his word. And I was currently pretty worthless. So why did I feel so fucking happy?

Preston was the dark brooding one. Even as a kid, he took his responsibility seriously. Sometimes I just want to shake him up and tell him to go wild lol!

All those years when I’d thought about Lia, the word that had come to mind was mine, and I’d denied it, tried to push it away.

Lia, even though a spitfire in nature, she locked herself up in a box with her insecurity – which was sad but also understandable considering her situation.

Truthfully, though, my life’s dream had just been to get out of the tiny spaces I’d always occupied—not just where I lived, but the stifling nature of my life in general. I just wanted things around me to . . . open up.

I like how Lia’s culture and social position played a big part in the story. I also like how the virtue of honor which supposed to be a positive trait brought so much pain to the characters.

There was angst in the story but the masochist in me wanted more. I really like Cole and wish his role was explored more.

I wondered distantly if people who had once been stripped bare and cracked open could recover, too, and thought that it was at least worth hoping for. Wasn’t it?

Preston’s Honor is a story of a couple tried by culture and an oath. It would appeal to readers who like romance story with trials and tribulations.
